DAD!!!!!
Okay, so its the first real time I get to email on P day! Which is
monday. So I am in the field, and with a new companion Elder Succo who
is from Utah and who is the best missionary under president Judd. My
companion has only been out twelve weeks with lots of good success. He
has had over 20 baptisms and the mission presidents told me before I
met him "I'm getting the best!" and now I am in Mamponse Accra Ghana
Africa Mission. I'm very close to the beach and can feel the breeze of
the ocean. I can't see the ocean, but I know it’s there, we are also
west from a large canal full of trash I'll send you photos. From the
canal going west its about 15 to 20 min walk. Also we are north west
from an area called Shiabu, which is about 5 min walk. It’s very nice
weather and its very populated with shacks for home and a few
apartments, dirt roads off course, trash everywhere, unique and gross
smells everywhere, but our apartment is nice and clean. The people are
amazing and very kind, and of course as you said very very VERY
HUMBLE, I am so sorry for the time I have had to respond, as of now I
can respond and email every monday for a good amount of time. Which is
great! I am in an apartment with three other missionaries, Elder Succo
my companion from Utah, Elder Maughan my District Leader from Utah,
Elder Maloni from Zimbabue. The other companionships is very relaxed
and they have a baptism this Saturday. As for me and my companion we
are building are pool and have contacted thus far over 100 people who
seem very interested in the gospel, we have worked hard but we have
agreed to work harder simply because we are capable of doing more
especially because I'm getting the swing of things. So things are
looking very up. As for my health I am very healthy and have been fed
very well. I love the food here! I promised my mission president's
that I will never get sick so I'm being as smart and careful as
possible. I sleep under a mosquito net and the garlic pills are
working very well and the deet is helpful and there are alot of dragon
flies around our apartment eating any mosquito that comes our way. Also
there are not that many mosquitos in this area for some reason. As far
as safety goes the rummor is everyone in this area actually looks out
for the missionaries, so people not of our faith have even got our
backs because they don't want a bad rep here in Mamponse.
I am now capable of getting on other websites since I'm in the field,
so I do look forward to sending you stuff. Lots of photos!
I'm sorry about getting back so late with so little information, I'm
really doing my best.
Okay so what been going on in the mission! So me and my companion have
contacted over 100 people and are teaching 4 to five lessons a day,
which is great! We hope we can do more in a day also me and my
companion get along very well. His name again is Elder Succo, he is
from Utah and actually attended BYU and took some dancing classes
there, and is a two time state champion highschool Trombone player, he
is amazing and very spiritual. I'm so very happy I get to start out
with him in the field, he is my trainer but he does a very good job
of making it feal like he isn't my trainner. His family lives south of
the American Fork Junior High.
So far I learn more everyday alot everyday and its moving so fast! 25
days already away from home! It feels like I left yesterday!
Seriously! But I've only been in the field for six days and yet 100
contacts and we have already taught and are going to teach so much
more!!! WO!!!!! YEAH BABY YEAH BABY!!!!! I will be sending you photos
in another email etc. Along with trying to send the voice recordings
Love you So Very Much DAD!!!!
P.S. Have you gotten my letter!!!! or has the family gotten my letter...
Any way LOVE YOU ELDER TREU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
